The 5th grade students at Chapman Elementary had a wonderful time at camp this year! The students, teachers, and chaperones alike really enjoyed their two-and-a-half-day stay at Camp Michindoh in Hillsdale, Michigan. The weather was perfect and so were the activities. Confidence was fostered, new skills were acquired, and memories were made!
The students enjoyed learning about outdoor living by building campfires, shelters, fishing, and canoeing. They worked on team-building skills by doing challenges, playing Goldrush, and doing outdoor team sports. The classes learned about historical times by visiting an old-time pioneer village, where they experienced school in the 1800s, made candles, and even cooked by fire flame! The group also worked in the fine arts, by performing skits and learning new dances! All in all, it was a fantastic time at Camp Michindoh!
