Previously Shared Information

There are two proposals on the November 5, 2024 ballot.

The first proposal is a renewal of the non-homestead operating millage that all Michigan school districts must levy to receive their full foundation allowance (state aid).

The non-homestead millage supports the school district’s general operating budget. The operating budget covers everything necessary to provide educational programs and services in the Gibraltar School District. All school districts in Michigan must levy 18 mills on non-homestead property to receive their full foundation allowance

The second proposal is a 10-year sinking fund millage renewal.

The second ballot proposal calls for the renewal and restoration of a 10-year sinking fund millage to complete ongoing facility repairs and updates to Gibraltar school buildings. The sinking fund generates approximately $415,000 annually for facility repairs and updates.
