Dear Lakeshore Virtual and CHS Parents, Students, and Community,
It is with great pleasure and enthusiasm that I introduce myself as the Principal at Lakeshore Virtual and Assistant Principal of Virtual Learning at CHS! I am excited to lead Lakeshore Virtual and assist Ms. Shultz and both staff teams in continuing to provide our students with flexible and personalized learning opportunities.
As the first of my family to earn a college degree, my parents always instilled in me the importance of education and being a lifelong learner. My educational background includes receiving a Bachelor’s of Science degree in 2003 in Mathematics and Chemistry and a Master’s of Science degree in Science Education in 2011 from U of M—Dearborn. Then, in 2015, I earned a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Madonna University. Throughout that time, I was a teacher and Dance Coach at Riverview Community HS. My teaching experience included teaching Mathematics, Computers, Physical Science, Chemistry, and AP Chemistry. Besides teaching, I also had many leadership roles. I was the Science PLC Liaison, Blended Learning Committee Leader, and the Summer Enrichment Program Administrator. In addition, I had the opportunity to be a lecturer at U of M—Dearborn for 5 years to educate pre-student Science teachers.
My 15 years in Riverview and 5 years at the collegiate level have prepared me well for this role. I am committed to continuing the rich traditions of these schools and providing our students with a supportive learning environment consisting of rigorous and meaningful curriculum. In order to accomplish this, I welcome and value your feedback. Through collaboration and support we can provide our students with endless learning opportunities in order to prepare them for their future endeavors.
On a personal note, I am a lifelong resident of the Downriver Area. I have been married for 14 years, and we have 2 cats and a dog. In addition, we have 2 wonderful nieces and a god-daughter who all love to dance! I also proudly participate yearly in the ACS Relay for Life as a 20-year cancer survivor.
